220912, My family, together and goodbyes

Well, I've been without my car for what feels like close to forever now and still not back in Coffee Bay.  (I am planning on taking the bus back next week.)    I am very grateful for the extra time that I'm having with my parents as a result of the delay.

Most of the Bosman men together, a rare occasion.

Me (in the middle) with my close family

Apart from that, I was able to attend my grandmother's funeral in Hermanus together with the rest of my family on Tuesday.  It was an enriching experience to be surrounded by so many of the people of my blood again for the first time in years.

Also I'm happy to have been a part of the celebration of my grandmother's life, remembering the strong, wise and loving kind of mother (and grandmother and great-grandmother) she used to be when she was still able to live her life as a free person before suffering a bad stroke some 12 years ago.

My grandmother just about 2 weeks before she died, meeting her youngest grandchild, Daniel.

150912, Walking with the wolves

When I was staying with my brother I had the pleasure to take the two Alsations,  Xandor and Buddy for a couple of walks.  I wonder what they would get up to if I took them with me to the Transkei...

130912, New shoe shine

Whilst in Cape Town my friend Ninon introduced me to this Zimbabwean guy, Arnold who was trained by his father to make shoes as a boy.    Ninon helped him to get a new workspace and is working with him expanding the business... Check out

I've been in the Western Cape now for about 2 weeks, to photograph a wedding and meet my first nephew Daniel.  What a pleasure!
